Oh. That stuff.
I honestly didn't mind it. The art and character design was what really sold it for me.
I liked the other, more subtle jokes and imagery scattered throughout much better.
Each to his own, I guess.

The artist did much better with this comic.

Billy and Mandy was always one of Cartoon Network's top quality shows during the "city era" to me. That was when all of the good shows were on, like KND, Foster's, and most of the '90's shows (oh childhood.) Then Billy and Mandy kinda went to the ridiculous side where it became more badly written than the crudeness it was known for, and not too long from then Spongebob suffered the same fate.

I miss the old Cartoon Network. I was always more into that than Nickelodeon, despite what all my classmates thought.

Hey fellas...

I was looking through my old VHS tapes and found a show called "Monster in my Pocket".
It was one of those toy commercial ones, but wasn't too bad at first glance.

Anybody hear of it?

Yeah, it came out right before Pokemon, so it got horribly overshadowed, but even before that it had to compete with other hot toys of the era, like tamagotchi.

Basically, it's the Chaotic/Beyblade/Bakugan of the 90's, and about as relevant/entertaining.

Funnily enough, Pokemon was originally going to be translated directly as "Pocket Monsters" when it came stateside, and some of the earliest promotional material reflects that. However, they feared it would be too close to "Monsters in my Pocket" to be able to trademark/differentiate it.

And thus, "Pokemon" was born.

I think I've heard of it actually...don't think I've seen anything though.

It seems there was only the one animated special...
And it was good.
I liked it.
Maybe watch it again.

I also just remembered 'Buttons and Rusty' and 'Toucan Tecs'.
I watched these all the time at my grandmother's house.
They should still be there.
Might see if I can borrow them.

I'm watching reruns of Batman Beyond on The Hub. It's held up pretty well.

MLP has begun to boil down into "Every episode I think will suck will actually be great, and vice versa."

BEST FRIENDSHIP REPORT

Dear Princess Celestia,
I didn't learn anything today.

I loved the showtune in this one. The Flim Flam brothers were a lot more interesting than I thought they would be.

I did too. Although, I'm beginning to wonder when Daniel is going to stop making parodies of showtunes.

No. Wait, never mind. There was that pet song.

Yeah, but plenty of other cartoons parody films. This was slightly more creative than the likes of Johnny Test and such.

It wasn't so much that these songs are parodies, but that Daniel was doing nothing but them. But I was mistaken.

SO HOW ABOUT THAT LETTER
