The guy who did Meelo's designs, Ryu Ki-Hyun, had many that weren't nearly as ugly, but apparently pretty much everyone on the team thought the ugly ones were just way more awesome.

Also, I loved the scene with the gangsters, I'm loving the 1920/30's feel of the show. It just allows for so much more freedom in terms of settings and stuff.

Also I'm interested to see how much they show how the bending arts have evolved over the decades. Like, different moves, maybe different sub bending types (metal bending, sand bending, etc.)

Oh man today's regular show was just one big reference to The Wizard and the Power Glove. They even used "It's so bad" and used the game that the guy played in the movie when using.
