I hate the stigma behind the phrase "comic books" in America. It brings about images of nerds or children. I just ticks me off.

Fixed that for ya.

I honestly cannot think of a place in the world where this isn't a normal perception off the top of my head.

Manga in Japan is a widely accepted medium for all ages. It just frustrates me that my hobby will always be considered nerdy and ostracized.

Oh, I see.

That's just not fair. Why should other mediums get away with showing mature content, but when a medium such as comic books tries to be mature, it is considered "corrupting"?

Because it's exactly like video games.

The Otaku serial killer was a BIG deal in Japan. He killed little girls and did things like cutting their hands off and having sex with the corpses.

To them, that was Columbine, and while neither event reflects what the actual manga readers/video game players do and think, it's a stigma that sticks because of how potent that imagery is.

Dungeons and Dragons has this same problem.

Let us not talk of this anymore.

It gives me the willies.

It's a bit different in that case, since D&D is more of a "that's something nerds play" or is the "gateway drug" to satanic cult shit, whereas this stuff is directly "responsible" for these events.

But yeah, this is a touchy and disturbing subject for a lot of people, so I think this might be better off in taboo topics.

Mental illness comes into play here as well.

AUGH.

Why can't I stop having opinions?

Hence why it was in quotes.

D&D doesn't make people bad, just makes them more open to going down a bad path to cults.

However, video games and manga are things that "change people" and feeds/creates an unnatural sickness in them.

It's really stupid, but that's how people see these things.

I want to build a golem.

Don't know why the above conversation reminds me of this.
I just... really feel like creating life right now.

In other news Wakfu gets a movie next year. Lets talk about this rather than what we were talking about before.

Will having a feature length movie finally convince more people to watch it?

PROBABLY NOT

I just found a horrible tumblr blog about Korra. And it is horrible as in "There is no way that someone could devote this much time to something so perverted." I don't understand why fandoms do this.
