Spoony's being very diplomatic, actually.

He hasn't said that MLP is bad - having not seen enough of it to have formed an opinion of his own - he's just advising caution re: fanaticism.

I myself wouldn't say that Homestuck is bad - because I don't know enough about it - and I haven't read any of it; Homestuck just doesn't draw me in or catch my interest the same way it has other people here on AZ - but that doesn't mean it sucks.

I think a good way of putting this is

"Its not a show I like at all, but I can see why others enjoy it." That is acknowleding that to others it is a good show, but you/me it is not. I don't like it because it just doesn't click. It's not that its girly, I enjoy Lou! and Azumanga Daioh and those are considered girl shows in their respective regions. I think its just the writing, I guess? I mean, some bits of the show can get a chuckle or two out of me, and the animations and things they do are nice, but it just doesn't capture my attention. I can probably blame that on that I was raised on comic books and video games. I have the same mentality with Disney. I can't really find myself enjoying the older Disney cartoon movies. I love Looney Toons though, so it's something about that I guess.

I don't really enjoy a lot of the traditionally animated* Disney movies - I don't know if that's because of the whole 'fairytale' thing or the 'wholesomeness' the movies exude.

Also, the way 'beauty' is personified in those Disney films kinda turns me off.

I like a lot of the animated Dreamworks movies though, and I can't say that's because they feature incredibly deep storylines, because they don't.

*i.e. not the Pixar stuff - the majority of which is great.

Azumanga Daioh is considered a shonen actually, but yeah.

I think fairy tales never appealed to me as much. I love Pixar though. I've always been a sci-fi person growing up, so that may be part of it.

Also, I had to look up what shonen meant. I DUNNO, I just saw its a cartoon with nothing but girls and I'm like man this is for girls and then I ended up loving it. SO WHO KNOWS i don't understand anime buzzwords.

I usually really don't bother with genre terms when it comes to anime or whatever. I will like what I like.

Speaking of Disney movies, who else thinks Hunchback of Notre Dame is the best?

The music, if nothing else, is magnificent.

I liked the story a lot and the setting of it.
Seeing Frolo getting such hellish lust was great as well.

Since we're on the topic on Disney movies, I watched the Emperor's New Groove a couple days ago. I forgot how good it is,

The glorious Sub Team finished Episode 1 of Wakfu S2 today.

If you want it, PM me, and for simplicities sake I'll probably put you on a mailing list to receive every episode as its released. No more individual PM stuff.

HOW COULD YOU!?

With David Spade, Eartha Kitt, John Goodman AND Patrick Warbuton, how could you forget the greatness of it?

The music, story and humor were all great, which all the voice actors pulled off.
