You mean he can't use his most defining trait? That's disappointing. I'm guessing other Mario characters don't have access to their own traits, such as Yoshi being able to eat anything they see?

He is able to jump, but only off of allies, and can stomp enemies in range. That and his hammer tend to be his best moves.

This would also explain why he's using a gun when he can already shoot fire out of his hands

Finally made an account just to comment on this. The deal with Nintendo that Ubisoft had to make was that in order to have Mario, he couldn't jump.

The idea from Miyamoto was that they didn't want Ubi to make a platforming game with Mario. They want to have control on the quality of Mario platforming so as to keep a certain image with the public. In a way that forced Ubi to get creative, and it resulted in a fun game.

That's weird, since the Mario & Luigi games, which are RPGs, have tons of incredibly terrible and simplistic platforming in them, and Mario can jump in battle as an attack, and so forth. And those games are developed by AlphaDream, though Nintendo provides financing and oversight, which I think is the same deal as Mario & Rabbids?

The Super Smash Bros. games and the Paper Mario games are also developed by studios other than Nintendo (HAL Laboratories and Intelligent Systems), though Nintendo is very heavily partnered with those studios, and they make games for nobody else, so maybe that's different.

SM RPG was literarily over 2 decades ago, Nintendo (or any other company for that matter) is not the same as it was back then.

That said, since Mario+Rabbids do feature jumping in the form of leaping off of allies I'd say it's a non-issue.

Edit: Why the hell is l.i.t.e.r.a.l.l.y autochanged to bodaciously?!?!

You too have encountered this site's word filter. I forget all of what it corrects, I only just discovered transforming dragon Fire Emblem self insert character Corn is affected. There's also pop flyin' too.

This in of itself is a trait that makes Mario weak.

He wants to give the Rabbids a chance at living.

Anyone in their right mind would not even think of doing that.

I mean, sort of. Mario can't jump on his own. But you can perform a Team Jump, where if you move onto an ally's square, they'll give you a boost and let you jump to another square. You can stomp on enemies to damage them and bounce onto another square, or land on an ally to chain jumps.

Everything I hear about Mario + Rabbids just disgusts me further, and yet everyone's praising the heck out of it. Why don't I just play Xcom if I wanna play Xcom?

Is someone stopping you from playing Xcom?

On a related note, though, you're not going to like this.
