It isn't. People just seem to find a silly story and a lazy ROM hack + crappy video editing terrifying for some reason.


Has anyone on this forum actually expressed any kind of fear in this?

I can speak for myself when I say I never found it scary. It's just interesting because I like the game. I like scary stories, especially ghost stories. So combining the two just so happened to tickle my fancy.

Showing interest in it =/= fear. I know more people than just me already explained this in the past when people were going "GAWD YOU GUYS WHY ARE YOU SO INTERESTED IN IT, IT'S NOT EVEN SCARY".

It's a reference to best-selling novel House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. In order for the joke to actually apply, you have to get either the Full-Colour version or the Blue version. I heartily recommend it.
